The Soviet Union also had electronics, which we still use today. Of course, these were not such advanced devices as we are used to seeing them now, but only their distant ancestors. What a laptop, mobile phone, pocket computer and other devices looked like in those years, see below.

Laptop "Electronics MS 1504", 1991.

The 3.5-kilogram device was equipped with a 16-bit processor with a frequency of 4.77-7.16 megahertz and 640 kilobytes of RAM. The color palette was four shades of gray.

In the USSR, a prototype of a microwave oven appeared in 1941, but due to the war, the development of this household appliance was stopped. The production of microwave ovens began only 37 years later.

They were collected in small batches and were quite expensive. At a cost of 350 rubles, it was necessary to pay 1.5 or even 2 salaries for this device.

The first radiotelephone appeared in the USSR back in 1957. Its creator was radio engineer Leonid Kupriyanov.

The first prototype weighed 3.5 kg, however, subsequently its weight and dimensions were significantly reduced. The number was dialed using a small disk.

Back in the 40s, work began on computers. In the USSR they could be found in research institutes, some universities and sometimes even in production.

Home PCs appeared in the USSR in the 80s.

The children's console "Electronics" is well known to everyone whose childhood was in the 80s and 90s. Taking the console of the Japanese company Nintendo as a basis, and replacing the main character Mickey Mouse with the Wolf, production of the toy began in 1984.

In the early 70s, players appeared in the USSR that produced music from cassettes.

Until the early 90s, only a small part of Soviet citizens could boast of a player, because its average cost was 130 rubles.

In 1988, they released a prototype of a tablet - a compact computer "Electronics MK-90". A compact keyboard was used to enter data; touch screens appeared much later.

For 3,500 rubles, the buyer received a device with 16 KB of RAM and 32 KB of long-term memory.
