There was a time when segmentation of the telephone market by gender or age was of decisive importance in the selection process. Children were bought simple, cheap dialers, men wore formal business phones, women preferred brightly colored flip phones or sliders. Nowadays, a lot has changed; it has become much more difficult to predict which phone a person will prefer.

This happened because there were many more models on the market than two years ago, and an order of magnitude more than in 2001-2002. The second factor is that phones have turned from an accessory for the elite into an integral attribute of modern life. Nowadays, it’s rare that a school-age child will agree to some Motorola C115 – the phone should be “cool”, with a camera and games. In the same way, the head of a department at a large bank may choose the youth music smartphone Nokia 3250, while a girl will lightly choose a serious device with Wi-Fi like the Nokia E60.

Most modern phones are universal. They attract the attention of people of any age and income level and meet the needs of different groups of potential buyers. However, manufacturers are still producing devices for target audiences - and they are making good decisions. Most often, this audience is women, mostly young – from 20 to 30-35 years old. For them, for example, Nokia has released two lines of fashion phones, and Samsung has released one. The current fashion for thin cases and mirror screens is also aimed primarily at beautiful ladies. Although nothing prevents a man from buying an LG Shine or Nokia 7373, the majority of owners of these phones are women.

For this hit parade, we have selected the best ladies' phones that can now be found on the market. Among them there are “unisex” and purely female models - after all, not everyone chooses a phone based on gender. There are no smartphones or experimental models like HTC Advantage - only phones in the mid-price category of 6-11 thousand rubles. The presented phones not only look stylish, but also can do a lot - one does not interfere with the other.

The ten best women's phones were selected according to the following criteria:

* design
* ease of use
* telephone functions
* multimedia
* battery life

Design comes first for a reason. It is by its appearance that you can determine whether a phone belongs to the ladies’ category (business, etc.) or whether it is universal. What matters here are the materials of the case and the success of their combination, build quality, colors, drawings and inscriptions. Finally, the “wow factor” - the phone attracts attention or gets lost in the crowd of its peers.

Ease of use is another important factor when choosing. Many beautiful ladies have long nails, and not every keyboard matches them. In addition, the quality of the screen and button backlighting, ease of access to basic functions, the position of the phone in the hand when talking and using other features, and the ease of opening the case if it is a clamshell or slider are important.

Multimedia functions - implementation of a camera, player, Java machine, FM receiver (if there is one). We remember that the number of megapixels is not directly related to the quality of photos, and the player in a phone without memory cards (and with a small amount of its own) performs a decorative function.

Tenth place goes to the Fly E300 slider, a test of which recently appeared on our website. Thanks to its compact size, the phone fits in any hand and looks nice. An interesting feature of the device is the touch screen, which simplifies access to functions. Fly E300 is equipped with a solid set of capabilities, including viewing photos on a TV screen, reading e-books in TXT format, calculating biorhythms and body mass index. The disadvantage is the short battery life - less than two days with average phone use.

In ninth place is the Motorola MOTORIZR Z3, the brother of the RAZR in the slider form factor. The phone is available in several colors (black, blue, red, pink), and the body has metal inserts. The phone copes well with its basic duties; for entertainment there is a 2 MP camera, an average player and games (you can download your own). The keyboard of the device is quite comfortable, made in the classic “flat” style. Battery life is 3-4 days.

Eighth place goes to the Samsung SGH-E840 slider, which recently went on sale. Its design resembles a hybrid of LG Shine and Samsung SGH-U600: metal inserts in the case, flat keyboard, touch buttons. But at the same time, the device is a little cheaper and newer, with a longer battery life. The phone closes with a soft click. The functionality of the device is good: from an email client to a 2 MP camera. The numeric keypad is convenient, but the touch control keys are a bit of a challenge.

In seventh place is the Nokia 7373 in the rare rotator form factor. The phone belongs to the L’Amour Collection series; the body is made of plastic with a pattern, leather and fabric. The look of the fashionable phone is complemented by stylish design themes and eye-catching body colors; the delivery set includes a special case. In terms of functions, the phone is not inferior to other participants in the rating: 2 MP camera, memory card slot, player, Active Standby screen (quick access icons, player and radio status, notes), a full range of telephone capabilities. A keyboard with large buttons and bright backlighting is suitable for both those with long nails and those who prefer short ones. The phone works in standby mode for about two days.

Sixth place is occupied by the Sony Ericsson W880i all-in-one, the first thin phone from the Swedish-Japanese concern. The case with metal inserts has several colors; the orange design of the control buttons indicates that the device belongs to the Walkman music line. The phone is equipped with the highest quality player in the rating, a good camera and a powerful battery for 4-5 days of operation. The only negative is that the small keyboard buttons are not very convenient and the volume slider on the right side is completely inconvenient.

In fifth place in the ranking is the Samsung SGH-E500 clamshell. On the front panel of the phone there is a leather insert with a pattern. It contains a small color screen, which turns into a mirror in standby mode. The phone has a comfortable keyboard and a good internal screen. The functionality of the image device is average, there is support for EDGE and a 1.3 MP camera “for show”. The lack of a slot for memory cards and the far from ideal sound quality of music are disappointing. The phone “lives” up to 4-5 days with economical battery consumption.

The fourth place is occupied by the Samsung SGH-U600 slider. This is a universal phone, but girls love it more than men. And no wonder: the world's thinnest slider is available in six body colors, equipped with fashionable touch buttons and a full range of functions. Among other things, there is support for two Bluetooth headsets at once, a blacklist of subscribers and a design theme with images of the city in which, according to the settings, the phone is located. The only downside of the device is its short battery life, a little less than two days with average use.

Third place goes to the LG KE970 (Shine), a heavy metal slider with a scroll wheel under the display. The display, by the way, turns into a mirror in standby mode, meaning you can touch up your makeup or put on lipstick without leaving the phone. The functionality of the “shine” is average, there is a player with a minimum of settings and a decent 2 MP camera with Schneider-Kreuznach optics. The battery charge lasts for 2-2.5 days.

The second place goes to the image slider Sony Ericsson S500i. This is an attractive device in a white-yellow or black-green glossy case. Fingerprints remain on it, but to restore its beauty, just wipe the body with a handy cloth. The functionality of the phone is not bad, the only thing missing is a Walkman player, like its “big brother” Sony Ericsson W580i. The battery charge lasts for 4-5 days, which is rare in fashion phones.

The winner of the rating of women's phones was the elegant Nokia 7390 flip phone. It went on sale a year ago, but interest has not subsided to this day. Perhaps the secret of its popularity lies in the excellent combination of plastic, fabric and leather in the case, perhaps in elegant patterns. Or maybe it’s the excellent functionality: a 3 megapixel camera, a good player, support for EDGE and third generation networks, control buttons under the external screen and much more. The package includes wired headphones in the same color as the case and an elegant fabric bag that protects the phone from scratches. The battery lasts for three days, and this is a very good result for such a phone.

The ranking presents the best women's phones from six manufacturers. Our expert assessments and comments will help you make the right choice.
