Siron writes: I finally realized the idea of taking modern photographs of Novosibirsk from exactly the same angles from which some old photographs I had were taken; see exactly how Novosibirsk has changed in 40 - 115 years.

1. First, I chose the most successful old photographs, taking into account that it was possible to perfectly maintain the angle in the modern situation. Then I printed them on a simple b/w printer and cut them for convenience.

2. Then he arranged them in the order in which they could be copied by going through one continuous route, which ended up being quite intricate and long - about 24 kilometers:

I will say in advance that ideally accurate angles were not obtained everywhere, because over the decades a lot has changed, built, blocked, somewhere it is generally impossible to approach, somewhere even the topography of the earth has changed, so from two or three frames I chose the most successful one, but not always completely accurate.

By the way, I was not mistaken in choosing May 9 for this walk - the main streets were blocked for transport and you could stand for a long time in the middle of Krasny Prospekt, choosing the right point for shooting

In general, this is what happened.

3. Rimsky-Korsakov, 1/1 – Metalist cinema. 1920s.

4. Now everything is overgrown with trees.

5. Vatutina 29/1, Tower, one of the first buildings on the left bank, built in 1939. 1950s. This is a view towards the future Marx Square. On the left in the distance is an old house with the address Sibiryakov-Gvardeytsev, 22.

6. Now. I confess, not exactly, but otherwise it would not have been visible at all - there is a fence there.

7. On the Communal Bridge, 1965.

8. Now. I thought that I would find my way around the Opera House, but it is completely invisible in the modern buildings, so I took the photo much earlier, almost in the middle of the river, which is incorrect - the railway bridge is visible (it was impossible to notice it on the small screen of the camera), but in the old photo he's not there. But in general, the view of the right bank is the same.

9. View from the bridge to the left bank, 1960s.

10. Now. If it weren’t for May 9, I wouldn’t have been able to jump onto the roadway even for half a second. And so, I waited about five minutes for a long gap between the stream. Please note that the TV tower is visible in both photographs (surprisingly, it was built already in the 1950s).

11. View from the bridge on the Ob towards Akademgorodok, 1960s. There is no embankment yet.

12. Now. Configured:

18. Now there are no trams there, so I had to violate traffic rules:

19. Mandatory object - the first railway bridge across the Ob, late 19th century. The right section is now a monument:

20. Now. In the 80s, new supports were erected on old ice cutters and new spans were built on them. Now this is a strategic object, it is guarded and passage through it is prohibited:

21. The same overpass over Krasny, near the bus station. 1915:

22. Now everything is in advertising. The passage has become wider and there are already two overpasses:

23. This photograph has always delighted and delighted me! The beginning of the century, somewhere between 1911 and 1916, a shot from that overpass:

24. Now. Out of six different pictures, I chose this one, the angle is perfectly accurate:

25. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, beginning of the century:

26. Now. During the Soviet years it was not destroyed; it was used to store grain. UPD: in the comments they suggested that the old photo was taken from the side of the street. Soviet.

58. Now this is the intersection of Krasny Prospekt and Maxim Gorky Street:

59. Well, that's understandable. Between 1911 and 1916:

60. Now:

61. Long live Leninism in 1965!

62. Now no longer in good health:

63. View of the Regional Potrebsoyuz (you’ll break your tongue) around the end of the 1930s - the building of government institutions (Krasny Prospekt, 38) has already been built up to 5 floors:

64. Now everything is pretty similar:

65. City Trade Corps between 1911 and 1916:

66. Now:

67. Construction of the Opera House, 1930s, view from the roof of the trading building:
