Geek Workplace - 10 Funniest Concepts (10 Photos)

How great it is to sit comfortably in a cool chair and relax in front of the monitor!

Zero-Gee

A dental chair without instruments is what Project Zero-Gee is most like. The ergonomic workplace is designed in such a way as to reduce stress on the arms and legs during prolonged work. One of the advantages of Zero-Gee is the ability to work in two positions: sitting and lying down. In both cases, the hands will be on the armrests. Additional convenience is provided by a keyboard stand with a document holder. The monitor is mounted on an adjustable bracket: you can place it directly in front of your eyes, or you can move it to the side when working with papers.

Zero-Gee comes from the Pacific Ocean region of the Earth. I don’t know what about ergonomics, but from the outside this chair doesn’t look like the most comfortable or stable one.

P.C.E.

To make it look more like a dentist's office, Zero-Gee lacks additional equipment. There are plenty of them in the PCE Workstation project. There is a mount for three monitors, reminiscent of a dentist's lamp, a modular chair with an adjustable headrest, and a lockable keyboard stand - so that no one runs away.

All jokes aside, PCE Workstation is a good choice for gamers. They will benefit from three monitors, armrests, and an audio system. Moreover, they are the ones who will appreciate the design of this workplace. To people not familiar with the world of computer shooters, it may seem “a little too sinister” - well, like an electric chair or an operating table for mysterious experiments.

Nethrone

To finish with medical associations, let's remember the "Network Throne". This way you can translate the name of the next workstation. Clear associations with a dental office cease to be confusing when you learn that the chair, the monitor, and the keyboard/mouse stands are adjustable using electronic controls. An additional bonus is the massager built into the chair. With this set you can easily change your monitor to a drill!

By the way, don’t be confused by the fact that the chair turned out to be too reclining – its tilt can also be adjusted. The disadvantages of the workstation include its not-so-solid appearance and a fairly high price – $1,800.

Walkstation

Of course, only health-obsessed Americans could create a workplace like Walkstation. Steelcase specializes in office furniture and in four years will celebrate its centenary with perhaps an equally crazy project. In front of us is, in general, an ordinary office desk with a computer. The main difference from a normal workplace is that a comfortable chair is replaced by a treadmill. It would also be nice to include a 1-2 TB cement flash drive in the kit.

Of course, with Walkstation you are protected from excess weight and physical inactivity. You will also be spared stress, deadlines and other everyday troubles. Where such confidence? Have you tried typing while running...

Office Organix ErgoQuest 500

There is nothing healthier than sleep. Sleep as much as you like, work and sleep again. After all, work without waking up. The Office Organix ErgoQuest 500 is a huge frame on wheels. There is a table on it, a platform for the monitor, a stand for the mouse and keyboard are fixed on it. The main feature of the workplace is that both the platform and the stand can be tilted at any angle using a motor - even 90 degrees. In the latter case, roll the Office Organix ErgoQuest 500 into the bedroom, lie down on the bed, and go to work.

To the credit of the Office Organix ErgoQuest 500, it must be admitted that it is designed not only for beds, but also for ordinary chairs. The ease of control allows me to tilt the monitor and keyboard at least 10 times a day.

Gravitonus Ergonomic

This is probably the most advanced of jobs. Firstly, the position of the chair and the monitors opposite it can be freely changed: you can almost lie down or sit completely. Secondly, the keyboard stand can be easily fixed at any point. Thirdly, there is a ventilated chair: you can pore over the project for days. Fourthly, there are three monitors and a 5.1 audio system. make Gravitonus Ergonomic the best home theater for selfish people. Fifthly, designers will appreciate the LED-based lighting system: it does not create shadows. Sixthly, the exoskeleton elements allow you to fix your arms, leaving complete freedom of action - this reduces the load on the muscles.

Gravitonus Ergonomic is made to order, and its price depends on the quantity and quality of the hardware.

Emperor

Fans of Star Wars and those who have firmly chosen the dark side of the force can recommend this project. The luxurious throne of the emperor looks, as it should be, ominously. The ruler of the world should have such a workplace. According to its status, of course, it is entitled to maximum comfort, which in the case of Emperor includes a massage, an air freshener, three 19-inch monitors, three 7-inch touchscreens for control, a webcam and a UPS, which allows, in case of emergency, 30 minutes work autonomously.

Of course, it goes without saying that all panels, chairs, speakers and fans are adjustable here. But it is worth saying that the emperor's chair can rotate around its axis. So, calling the next Darth Vader into his office, you can arrange a spectacular meeting for him.

The rulers of the world, by the way, do not waste their time on trifles. So Emperor costs about $40,000 in the basic configuration, and how many other options are there!

Corner V1 Computer Desk

This monster is positioned as a home entertainment station. I must say that the picture shows the simplest version of the project. It can be supplemented with an audio system, and the configuration of the stands can be different; the number of monitors can easily be increased to three.

But no matter which option you choose, you can’t help but feel like you’re sitting at a drum set and not at a computer. Perhaps someone will think of equipping her pads with drum synthesizer sensors.

Surf Chair

This is a lounge-style workplace. It is quite suitable for home, or for a very advanced office, where young and creative people work, you can keep pets, burn incense and listen to electronic landscapes.

According to the creators, the Surf Chair should eliminate all possible computer pain: from the wrists to the lower back. Judging by the picture, it will be convenient and beautiful to work here. Unfortunately, we will have to judge by it, since the Surf Chair was invented eight years ago by Danish designers, then still students, Kenneth Lailover and Leif Sorenson for one of the exhibitions. Having received the main prize and several publications in the press, Surf Chair remained on paper.

Milk Desk

Unlike the previous project, “Milk Table” can be ordered. Its purpose is a stylish office. The workplace is intended for Mac lovers - hence, probably, the laconic design. For example, you have a MacBook. When you arrive at work, you connect it to your desk, which already has a monitor and keyboard. Thus, in the office you can work not on a laptop, but on a regular computer, which is much more convenient.

On the left side of the table there are several boxes for accessories, on the right end there is a slot for documents. It remains to add that the table itself is easily adjustable in height. The project will go into production, but it is unknown when. The authors are currently accepting pre-orders.
