Here’s What a Custom Bed Built for Pet Owners Looks Like (7 Photos)
When shopping for furniture, people want pieces that aren't just decorative, but truly functional. Country Creations Pine Furniture, based in Clintonville, Pennsylvania, designed and built a king-size bed that isn't just for humans—it comes with a built-in sleeping area custom-made for pets, whether it's a dog, cat, ferret, or other furry friend.
People choose home furnishings differently: some prioritize aesthetics, while others focus on practical utility. This furniture maker decided to combine the best of both worlds and offer something genuinely new—a king-size bed featuring built-in extension beds for your pets.
Why share your mattress with your pet when you can give them a dedicated bed right next to yours?
Built with pet lovers in mind, the frame features six pull-out storage drawers—three on each side—making great use of space that would otherwise go to waste. The drawers fit neatly into the base of the frame. Crafted from solid pine, the bed can be finished in a variety of custom stains upon request, including golden oak, dark walnut, classic gray, and more.
The extension attached to the main frame serves as the dedicated pet bed. It features additional storage drawers and a small set of steps so smaller animals can easily climb up. The setup doubles as an impressive storage solution—just look at how many drawers are built into it!
The main bed measures roughly 200 cm in width and 280 cm in length, while the pet extension measures 200 cm wide by 70 cm long. The entire setup stands 66 cm tall.
The manufacturer sells the complete set for $1,200, though pieces can be customized or bought individually. If purchased separately, the main bed frame costs $800, the pet attachment is $300, and the two matching side nightstands are $100.
Unfortunately, the builder didn't release a DIY guide, but experienced woodworkers could easily reverse-engineer the design and craft something similar if they love the concept.
The idea was a hit online, though many commenters joked that their dogs would still insist on sleeping right in the main bed anyway. Others lamented not having enough floor space for such a massive setup, but promised they'd buy one as soon as they had room for it.
One commenter summed up the craft and design perfectly:
"It's not just pine. It's pine, time, ingenuity, passion, space, tools, overhead, supporting small business, keeping money in the local economy, and standing up against big corporations." ![]()
