Da Nang’s Golden Bridge: A Must-See Wonder in Vietnam (10 Photos)
Vietnam is a destination bursting with tourism potential, offering everything a vacationer or adventurous traveler could ask for. With its stunning beaches, colossal caves, ancient temples, and breathtaking tropical landscapes, the country draws millions of visitors every year. Naturally, local creators are constantly looking for new ways to elevate Vietnam's appeal—which is precisely how Da Nang’s breathtaking Golden Bridge came to be.
Spanning 150 meters, the unique Golden Bridge opened at the Ba Na Hills resort in Da Nang in June 2018. Almost overnight, it became one of the most viral attractions on the planet. A clip of the bridge posted on Instagram racked up over 7 million views and thousands of awe-struck comments in just its first few days.
The overwhelming online buzz comes as no surprise—the structure is genuinely breathtaking. Perched 1,414 meters above sea level, the Golden Bridge offers visitors sweeping panoramic views of lush, jungle-clad mountains and the city of Da Nang below.
Yet the scenery is only part of the draw. The structure itself is a marvel of engineering and an architectural masterpiece, designed to resemble a silk ribbon cradled by the giant stone hands of a deity.
The curved walkway rests on steel supports anchored by two colossal hands. Looking at the giant palms, you might easily believe they have stood here for centuries before 21st-century engineers decided to rest a bridge upon them. Crafted to resemble gray stone, the hands feature intricate detailing, complete with realistic cracks and patches of green moss.
Of course, that ancient look is a clever illusion crafted by the designers to give the Golden Bridge its mystical atmosphere. The giant hands were built alongside the bridge and artfully aged. The mossy, stone-like hands create a striking contrast against the sleek steel and modern architecture of the walkway itself.
Lined with vibrant flower beds along its balustrades, the pedestrian walkway offers visitors a truly enchanting stroll. The new landmark has won the hearts of locals and international travelers alike. People travel from miles away to take a dizzying walk above the clouds or shoot breathtaking wedding photos against the unique backdrop.
