Apartments Not for the Faint of Heart: A Cottage Next to Lions for Rent (9 photos)
Entrepreneurs are doing everything they can to attract tourists. Ice and snow hotels, located underwater and in treetops, are no longer exotic. Hotels that offer guests the thrill of real danger, such as the presence of wild predators, are trending.
The private GG Conservation reserve, located within a national park in South Africa, offers tourists a lodge surrounded by at least 100 lions. The apartments are equipped with all necessary amenities and are securely fenced.
According to the owners of the mini-hotel, the cottage's perimeter is securely protected from predators, and guests are completely safe. The fence is not only robustly constructed but also electrified, so animals don't even approach it.
Suzanna Scott, the director of this original project, promises that guests will live so close to the predators that they will feel like full members of a lion pride. The opportunity to observe lions up close is the hotel's main feature.
In the mini-hotel's courtyard, there's a cozy gazebo equipped with everything necessary for a barbecue. Guests have the unique opportunity to enjoy lunch while observing the life of the "king of the beasts" in their natural habitat.

The hotel offers several cozy 2-3 bed rooms with all amenities, as well as a spacious shared kitchen and a fireplace room. Besides lions, tourists are promised birdsong and an incredible night sky with myriad stars. This experience costs guests $100 per person per night. The owners of the reserve plan to invest all proceeds from the hotel into its development.
