Feathered Terminator: when a crane doesn't want to be Lunch
In the wildlife world, it's common to think of a grizzly bear as someone you shouldn't argue with, but this male crane apparently skipped biology class or simply believes in his own invincibility too much. The young and apparently overconfident bear thought a nest with a female and chicks was a light meal, but he clearly underestimated the resolve of the family leader. Instead of retreating like a proper breakfast, the father crane erupted into a furious whirlwind of rage, forcing the fearsome predator to retreat in bewilderment. It seems this clubfooted adventurer will long remember that messing with parental instinct is, to put it mildly, a questionable strategy. Such is the harsh forest drama, where the outcome of a battle is decided not by the size of one's claws, but by one's willingness to defend one's own to the last feather.
