Unexpected street scenes from New York and Tel Aviv captured by street photography master Ronen Berka (50 photos)
Ronen Berka has been passionate about street photography for the past six years, hoping his images will entertain and even surprise viewers. Regarding his personal experiences, he says, "For me, photography is, above all, quality time spent with myself."
Israeli Ronen Berka divides his time between New York and Tel Aviv, actively shooting on the city streets. People in different cities react differently to the camera, some with suspicion and disapproval. But curiosity and a thirst for new discoveries motivate the photographer to find and capture new places.

Six years ago, Ronen, driven by a desire to capture more than just family photos, bought his first camera. With his new equipment, he spent his weekends wandering the streets of Manhattan and Brooklyn in search of interesting scenes. Street photography became an important part of his life, and he joined the street photography collective Observe.
"Over time, photography has become increasingly important to me," says Berka. "I cherish every minute spent with a camera on the street. The crises I've experienced have fortunately been very brief. For me, photography is, above all, quality time spent with myself."
Ronen Berka publishes his work on his personal website, Instagram, and Flickr. Below is a selection of his shots from New York and Tel Aviv.
