It's hard to imagine anyone not loving such a juicy and incredibly delicious treat as a watermelon. Especially in this heat. They're sold everywhere in the summer, but few know how to choose the perfect one—one that's ripe, juicy, and sweet. Sometimes it seems like an impossible task, one only a true gardener could master.
Don't worry, here are some tips on how to choose the perfect watermelon.
By the ground spot
The yellow spot, also known as the ground spot, is where the watermelon lay on the ground when it ripened. In ripe watermelons, it is dark yellow or even orange-yellow, never white.
Spiderweb
These brown, web-like spots indicate that a bee frequently touched the fruit's ovary during pollination. The more frequently it was pollinated, the sweeter the fruit.
Boy or Girl

Size
It's best to choose a watermelon that's not the largest, but also not the smallest. Choose a medium-sized one. And remember, regardless of size, a watermelon should always feel heavy for its size.
Tank
A dry tail means the watermelon is ripe. If the tail is green, the fruit was picked too early and is not yet ripe.
