Since 2007, Google Street View has captured panoramic images of over eight million kilometers of roads in 45 countries and nearly three thousand cities worldwide.
Canadian artist and filmmaker Jon Rafman enjoys studying these photographs. He saves screenshots of his best photos and posts them on his blog (though he never specifies the location where the photo was taken). Rafman named his blog "9-Eyes" (literally, "nine eyes") after the nine cameras that Google Street View vehicles are typically equipped with. 
Rafman says he spends hours browsing Google Street View archives. 
He enjoys being a "virtual explorer." 
He collects photographs taken in various parts of the world. 
Sometimes they capture beautiful, serene landscapes… 
… dynamic scenes… 
… or something frightening. 
Rafman chooses shots that look like they were taken by a real photographer, not Google robots.

Many of the photos look simply unreal.
