Sweet furball: The Japanese turned cat lovers' worst nightmare into a dessert (3 photos)
Japanese pet brand Necoichi has decided to prove that love for pets can reach absurd extremes by launching "edible cat fur." The new product, called Delicious Cat Fur, is a cotton candy confection whose color and airy texture eerily accurately mimic the combed fur of a calico cat. Pet owners joke on social media that they already enjoy this "delicacy" daily with freshly made soup or coffee, but the Japanese confectioners have added an important twist. Unlike real fur, this 980 yen dessert has a pleasantly sweet aroma and makes a comical popping sound in the mouth, like fizzy candy. The only stern warning from the creators is that this treat is created exclusively for humans, so sharing it with real cats is strictly prohibited.
