A Japanese school in Kochi Prefecture opened a 7-Eleven in place of its regular cafeteria.
The traditional cafeteria closed in May—the operator was unable to continue operating due to rising costs and labor shortages. The school is required to provide students with access to three meals a day, as many live in the adjacent dormitory.
7-Eleven came to the rescue, opening an exclusive convenience store accessible only to students and teachers.
