Pigeons turned out to be gourmets: birds can choose the "most delicious" beans
Many believe that pigeons peck at food indiscriminately, grabbing everything from the ground. However, a new video has shown that the birds are actually much more careful when choosing food than it appears. The footage shows a pigeon literally sorting through individual seeds with its beak, as if assessing them before eating. The bird repeatedly rejects some seeds and chooses others, almost like a miniature tasting. Ornithologists have long noted that pigeons are able to distinguish the size, shape, and even quality of food. Thanks to their sensitive beaks and excellent eyesight, they can indeed select the most attractive or nutritious food from among the crowd. After the video was published, users on social media began joking that pigeons are "feathered food bloggers," and that bread crumbs are apparently no longer considered acceptable to them.
