Musk unveiled XChat: an ad-free, encrypted messenger (photos + video)

Elon Musk is preparing to launch his own messenger, XChat, a standalone app that will become part of the X ecosystem. The service is scheduled to be released on April 17th, first for Apple devices, followed by other platforms. Users are promised end-to-end encryption, protection of conversations from screenshots, and the ability to delete messages for all participants. The messenger will also feature voice and video calls without being tied to a phone number, as well as group chats. Disappearing messages, file transfers, and the elimination of ads and user tracking are also promised. The project is positioned as a competitor to WhatsApp and Telegram in the secure communication segment.
