A corporate party that requires a vacation (5 photos + video)
The CEO of Plex organized an unusual corporate trip to Honduras for employees, conceived as a large-scale team-building event. The company spent approximately $500,000 on the trip, and 120 employees participated, many of whom work remotely.
The event's format resembled a reality survival show, with participants facing challenges resembling extreme conditions. However, things went awry from the start: the CEO contracted a stomach infection and spent most of his time in the hospital, significantly losing weight.
The employees, meanwhile, faced rigorous tests administered by former military personnel – participants had to perform physical exercises in extreme heat and endure endurance tests.
Furthermore, they were offered exotic foods (scorpions and tarantulas), adding an element of shock and stress to the trip.
There were some incidents: one employee suffered a severe allergic reaction after falling into an anthill, and one of the rooms even contained a live porcupine.
Adding to the daily challenges were power and water outages, as well as occasional instances of food being served raw.
The highlight was an episode in which about a hundred participants were stranded on a neighboring island due to a lack of lighting on the runway and were forced to wait until morning.
Despite all the difficulties and health risks, the participants noted that the experience truly helped them get to know each other better and ultimately strengthened their team.
