Dog breaks into the team sprint at the Olympics
An unusual incident occurred during the women's sprint qualifying rounds at the Olympic Games in Italy. A dog appeared on the ski track and ran alongside other skiers.
The incident occurred in Valtellina on February 18. Argentine skier Najiara Diaz González was finishing her leg when an animal appeared behind her at the finish line. The dog didn't appear frightened: it trotted confidently along the groomed track, ignoring the shouts of fans and the announcer's announcements. Its appearance resembled a Czechoslovakian wolfdog, a breed bred by crossing with wolves.
After crossing the finish line, the dog approached the athletes in a friendly manner, as if greeting their competitors after the race. Organizers responded quickly: track staff caught the friendly offender and removed it from the course. According to eyewitnesses, the animal behaved calmly and showed no aggression.
