Punch is a macaque from a Japanese zoo who was abandoned by his mother as a baby. Keepers raised him, providing him with a loving family. He was later transferred to an enclosure with other monkeys, but he never quite fit in.
To compensate for his mother's absence, he was given a stuffed animal—and now Punch carries it everywhere, clutching it like a real "mother." After a video of him went viral, visitors began coming to see him. But even with the attention, Punch still mostly plays alone, tightly hugging his stuffed animal.
