Video of an encounter with an unknown Indian tribe

Conservationist and Amazon rainforest researcher Paul Rosalie shared a video of his encounter with an unknown South American Indian tribe.

The footage shows tribal warriors cautiously approaching the beach. They cautiously studied Rosalie and her colleagues, gesturing at them, bows poised to fire. Then, realizing there was no danger, they lowered their weapons and walked toward the researchers. Some tribe members smiled.

Rosali said the video was filmed over a year ago but chose not to disclose the location where he encountered the Indians to protect them. The researcher admitted that in the initial moments, he and his colleagues feared an attack. "I was looking in all directions, thinking, 'Where's that arrow coming from?'" Rosalie recalled.

The encounter ultimately ended peacefully. The researcher also noted that this was the first high-quality footage of an uncontacted tribe, as Indians are usually filmed from a much greater distance. Rosali also explained that he did not want to reveal where he encountered the Indians, as they lack immunity to many diseases, and frequent encounters with civilized people could be fatal.

According to the Daily Mail, there are currently approximately 200 uncontacted tribes worldwide. Most of them are believed to live in the Amazon basin in South America.
