Goldfish were taught to operate an aquarium vehicle

Is it possible to teach fish to drive a car? It turns out the answer is yes—and it's scientifically proven. Several years ago, scientists conducted an experiment, creating a so-called "aquamobile."

Back in 2022, Israeli and Dutch scientists conducted a large-scale study, building an "aquamobile" into which they placed goldfish one at a time. Each fish quickly mastered the controls (pushing the aquarium in the desired direction) and mastered the task brilliantly, reaching its food.

And in 2025, the experiment was repeated for a Guinness World Record: the fish in the car managed to travel 12 meters in one minute.
