How a mounted chiropractor works

Equine-assisted manual therapy involves diagnosing functional limitations of spinal segments and correcting them using thrust.

The work of an equine manual therapist is based on identifying subluxations—functional limitations in the mobility of spinal segments that impair nerve conduction.

The primary correction method is thrust: a short, quick, and directed hand movement, often accompanied by a characteristic clicking sound. This sound, called cavitation, is not caused by bone friction, but by a sudden change in pressure within the joint capsule, which leads to the release of gas bubbles from the synovial fluid.
