A private Cessna Citation III business jet, tail number XA-PRO, crashed in Mexico while en route from Acapulco to Toluca. There were eight passengers and two crew members on board. The plane crashed in an industrial area near Toluca International Airport, crashing into hangars and outbuildings, causing a massive fire.
According to preliminary reports from Mexico State authorities, at least six people have been confirmed dead, though the flight plan indicated ten people on board, and the chances of finding survivors are virtually zero. Footage posted on social media and Telegram channels shows the plane descending, then losing control and crashing into buildings, followed by a thick plume of smoke rising over the area; Several fire crews had to extinguish the fire.
The Mexican Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transport reported that the crashed aircraft was a Cessna Citation 650 (Citation III), Mexican registration XA-PRO, operated by JetPro, a business aviation company.
Aviation authorities, investigators, and safety experts are already working at the crash site. They will analyze the wreckage, crew communications, and radar data to determine the exact cause of the crash.
