The Veluwemeer Aqueduct is a shallow-water bridge in the Netherlands with a tunnel underneath, connecting the mainland to the world's largest artificial island.
The structure was built in 2002 and connects two huge artificial lakes between the provinces of Gelderland and Flevoland. Around 30,000 vehicles pass through the aqueduct every day.
The Veluwemeer Aqueduct is 25 meters long and 19 meters wide.
Restrictions: the water depth above the road is only three meters, so only small, shallow-draft vessels can pass.
