The owner hoped the supercar would survive the winter safely.
28-year-old Vienna resident Amar Dejic was forced to call a tow truck again to remove his Ferrari 296 GTB from the balcony of his apartment, where he had stored the supercar for the winter a week earlier. According to Bild, he was forced to do so under pressure from technical regulatory authorities.
As Dejic told the publication, he was looking for a winter parking spot for the Italian coupe, which cost him 300,000 euros. All the parking spaces in the residential complex where his apartment is located were occupied. Then the owner remembered Dubai, where many buildings have car lifts, and decided to park the supercar on the balcony. Dejic added that he later wanted to surround the Ferrari 296 GTB with a glass box and illuminate it, making it look like a work of art.
A crane capable of lifting the 1.4-ton car to the second floor cost the Ferrari owner a four-figure sum. However, the car only remained on the balcony for a week. Videos of the loading process went viral on local social media, the incident was reported to the building inspectorate, and Dejic was ordered to return the car to the ground. The technical inspection deemed the risk of the balcony collapsing too great. As a result, Amar Dejic's Ferrari 296 GTB will spend the winter in the warehouse of his company, which supplies parts and tunes luxury cars.
