A blogger from China talked about the interior design of cars China and why there's a boom in electric cars (2 photos)

1 - Because they give you the license plate. That's the most important thing, everything else follows a long way.

For internal combustion engine cars, you get the license plate through a lottery or auction, which is a real pain, and it's also quite expensive. For commuter trains, it's no problem, you just buy it and get it right away. Internal combustion engine license plates are white on a blue background, while commuter train license plates are black on a light green background.

(If you trade in an ICE car for a new one, also ICE, the license plate will be re-registered to the new one without any problem. BUT if you had an ICE car, then bought a commuter train, handed in the blue one, and got a light green license plate, they won't let you switch back to an ICE car that easily; there was no point in giving up the blue one. That's why many places have completely decomposed carcasses of cars with blue license plates lying around in parking lots for years. The owners drive commuter trains, having received the light green license plates, and save the blue ones for when they buy a new ICE car.)

2 - Because of tax breaks.

I don't know how much could have been saved there, but I know it was a lot. So much so that for a huge number of people, it was a deciding factor. But – see point 3.

3 - Because electricity in commuter outlets was cheaper than electricity for other purposes. And with low taxes and cheap oats, the question of "what's cheaper to operate" didn't require much effort. The importance of this point is self-explanatory, just as it's self-explanatory that this fun couldn't last forever. We haven't implemented it yet, but in other parts of China, these benefits are being phased out little by little. The same goes for the taxes in point 2.

4 - And then the economy collapsed, university graduates went into delivery jobs en masse, and those ten years older went to Didi (our local version of Uber). Electric trains' efficiency really comes into its own in urban driving; on the highway, they suck at fuel, but they're perfect for city taxis.

5 - Because they're fun. Those who have the money buy electric trains for fun: 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, no doubt. And the fact that the range drops rapidly with such acceleration, so what? Just take a shit, rev the gas, and head home to the outlet. Those who don't prioritize cruising are also happy that they can get behind the wheel even without knowing how to drive. Commuter trains find parking spaces themselves, pull into them themselves, and the fact that degenerates never learn to drive is completely irrelevant, since the invention of the calculator made the multiplication table obsolete.

6 - Because it's warm, and the batteries don't degrade. (Well, it's immediately clear that this is for the most insignificant reasons, because people in China don't really care about basic knowledge, and they mostly find out about batteries degrading after the fact. Many don't even know then, but consider the incident the wrath of the gods or just bad luck.
