An American created a 3-kilogram iPhone case to combat addiction
The idea's creator, US resident Logan Ivey, developed a design using metal plates and 3D-printed fasteners. The accessory significantly adds weight to the smartphone, making it uncomfortable to use.
According to Ivey, the project's prototype emerged after he noticed that his habit of browsing social media uncontrollably was interfering with his workouts. Initially, he mounted the smartphone on a dumbbell, but later created a full-fledged case with similar functionality.
The concept is based on a simple principle: physical discomfort should reduce the desire to interact with the smartphone unnecessarily. The inventor notes that this measure has truly helped him reduce the time spent on the device and use it only for its intended purpose.
To remove the case, you need to unscrew four screws with an Allen key. A similar case is available on Kickstarter for $209.
