An ultra-expensive Gelendvagen was painted with diamond dust (44 photos)
Carlex Design has unveiled the next stage of its ultra-luxury tuning project, the Himalaya. This Mercedes-AMG G63 features a highly unusual finish using diamond dust and extremely expensive leathers. The tuners value the car at €1.5 million.
A special type of paintwork has been developed for the Geländewagen: almost a kilogram of diamond dust has been added to the paintwork. The tuners claim that the diamond particles in the paint provide unique and inimitable light-diffusing properties. In addition, the SUV is equipped with a signature body kit, which includes an alternative radiator grille, new bumpers, and wheel arch extensions. Unique wheels with a vintage effect complete the look.
For the interior trim, Carlex Design used specially selected and tanned leather, comparable in quality to the materials used to make the most expensive accessories. Some interior surfaces are upholstered in crocodile leather.
No information has been released about any modifications to the G-Class's powertrain. Only three Himalaya SUVs are planned for release, and each one, the tuners assure, will be special. "It is a captivating symphony of luxury and craftsmanship. A manifesto of exclusivity, understandable only to those who appreciate the truly unique," reads the official statement.
The Himalaya lineup includes seven models in total, which will be modified. In addition to the G-Class, the studio plans to similarly upgrade the Ferrari Purosangue, Lamborghini Urus, Aston Martin DBX, Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Bentley Bentayga, and Range Rover. As with the G-Class, each crossover will be strictly limited in production.
