A 1,236-meter-long escalator was launched in China: The escalator leads directly to the top of Lingshan Mountain

It was designed as a tourist infrastructure to facilitate visitors' ascent to the summit without the arduous climb. The escalator consists of 10 50-meter sections and takes tourists up in just 10 minutes, up from the previous two hours of walking.
Similar structures already exist in China: a 688-meter-long observation escalator has been installed in Hubei Province.
