A practically new Avatr 06 electric car burned to the ground, taking other cars with it (4 photos)
A major fire has broken out in China's Fujian Province. Seven vehicles, including Audi, BMW, Mazda, and Aion models, were completely destroyed by the blaze, with the source of the fire being an Avatr 06 electric vehicle. It is said to be practically new and was only purchased in late August 2025. 
The Avatr 06's mileage at the time of the fire was 1,066 km. The cause of the fire is unknown. The electric vehicle manufacturer has been notified of the incident, but has not yet issued an official statement; an investigation is apparently underway.
According to preliminary reports, the fire originated near the front passenger seat, and the temperature inside the Avatr 06 exceeded 76 degrees Celsius before the fire. One theory is that the fire may have been caused not by a malfunction in the electric car's power electronics, but by overheating of a gadget left inside.
The electric Avatr 06 is equipped with a 72.88-kilowatt-hour lithium-iron-phosphate battery from CATL and features an 800-volt architecture. This model has a range of up to 650 km on a single charge. Avatr, a brand created by Changan and CATL, launched sales of the 06 in China in April 2025, and according to Chinese analysts, more than 24,000 units have been sold to date, including both fully electric and hybrid models.
