Presentation of a new helo-car
RTR has introduced a new helo-car – the Mustang Spec 5, which is a wide-wheeled muscle car. This model has an impressive price – from $ 159,999, which is $ 95,619 more expensive than the 2026 Mustang Dark Horse, which costs $ 64,380.
Power and specifications
The car is based on the Mustang GT with the Performance package and is equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 engine. However, it is complemented by a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger, HD Race Intercooler and Borla cat-back exhaust.

These upgrades increase output to over 870 hp and 660 lb-ft of torque. That’s 390 hp and 245 lb-ft more than the standard GT, and even beats Ford’s 815 hp GTD track version by 55 hp. RTR didn’t release any speed ratings, but the engine can be paired with either a six-speed manual or a ten-speed automatic transmission.
Suspension and braking system
The car is equipped with a tactical RTR suspension, which includes 30-way adjustable front shock absorbers and rear dampers, adjustable springs and stabilizers. In addition, the model received 20-inch forged aluminum wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires and a Brembo braking system with two-piece rotors and six-piston calipers at the front.
Exterior and design
On the outside, the car received an extensive body kit that includes unique fenders, bumper extensions and composite sills. There is also a ventilated hood, illuminated radiator grille and special graphic elements. The Mustang Spec 5 features numerous carbon fiber details, such as the front splitter, side skirts, and “turrets.”
In addition, the model is equipped with a large spoiler and the original fuel tank cap that opens upwards. The manufacturer emphasizes this detail, noting that it demonstrates “unwavering dedication to detail.”
Interior and limited edition
The interior features Recaro sports seats with RTR branding, upholstered in gray leather and black suede. There are also RTR floor mats, a teardrop-shaped gear lever, and a plaque signed by Von Gittin Jr.
The Spec 5 is limited to 50 units for the 2026 model year. Despite its high price tag, this model is more than $10,000 cheaper than the 830-horsepower Shelby Super Snake.
This car demonstrates how tuners continue to evolve the muscle car concept, adding extreme technical solutions and exclusivity. A comparison with other high-performance versions of the Mustang shows that the market for high-performance versions remains competitive, and buyers are willing to pay for uniqueness and additional power.
