Rolls-Royce Reveals The Cullinan with the most astronomical ceiling (10 photos)
Rolls-Royce has unveiled a unique version of the Cullinan crossover, dubbed Cosmos. The name refers to the cabin's headliner, which features the traditional Rolls-Royce starlight illumination complemented by a cosmic landscape. The customer is said to have chosen this crossover to support his four-year-old son's fascination with space.
The crossover's headliner is hand-painted. This is said to be a first for a Rolls-Royce. One of the brand's in-house artists spent over 160 hours creating the painting, interpreting the Milky Way, applying over 20 layers of paint to individual sections.
The LED holes at key points were only punched after the painting was completed. The number of LEDs used is not specified, but on other Rolls-Royce cars with a similar level of detail, the number often exceeds a thousand.
The cosmic motifs are continued both in the overall color scheme of the interior trim and in individual details, such as thematic embroideries placed in specific areas of the cabin.
