Dinner in the depths: the largest underwater restaurant in Norway was caught on video
A trip to Norway can be quite an unusual experience in itself, because it is not a country where the vacation looks like a picture from a Bounty ad. However, if you can squeeze a visit to the Under restaurant into your trip, you can brag to your friends and family that you ate oysters in the largest underwater restaurant in Europe.
The restaurant is located in the Lindesnes municipality and looks like a not-so-pretty concrete monolith that was somehow lowered to the bottom of the North Sea. It is not surprising that local fishermen, having first seen this “miracle”, decided that it was a strange scientific station and came up with a new conspiracy theory.
A trip to Norway can be quite an unusual experience in itself, because it is not a country where the vacation looks like a picture from a Bounty ad. However, if you can squeeze a visit to the Under restaurant into your trip, you can brag to your friends and family that you ate oysters in the largest underwater establishment in Europe. The restaurant is located in the municipality of Lindesnes and looks like a not very attractive concrete monolith, which for some reason was lowered to the bottom of the North Sea. It is not surprising that local fishermen, having first seen this “miracle”, decided that it was a strange scientific station and came up with a new conspiracy theory.
But it turned out that the monolith is just an establishment for those who are ready to pay an average of 200 euros for a dinner with fish in the leading role. The 34-meter-long building was specially built so that it would rust and become overgrown with mollusks - for a “natural” look. There are only 40 seats inside (yes, not enough for a concrete colossus), and the queue for dinner is scheduled a year in advance. To simply reserve a table, you need to leave 100 euros and wait among 7,500 other people who want to. But after the wait, you will have a truly unforgettable meal. The main thing is to overcome your thalassophobia before dinner.
