A Kentucky woman has been arrested and accused of vandalizing her ex-boyfriend's car in a fit of rage after an argument.
Arrested Stephanie Carlquist is accused of vandalizing the car in July, slashing the tires, breaking the windshield and mirrors, destroying the radio, and pouring salt into the engine. As a "finishing touch," she allegedly poured glitter into the air conditioning vents.
A few days later, the damaged car was towed away and declared a total loss, with damages estimated at over $12,000. According to investigators, Carlquist admitted to the tow truck driver that she had broken the car, then texted her ex-boyfriend an apology, citing her actions as stress from her pregnancy. However, when questioned, she denied some of the damage, claiming that her ex-partner was "late in buying oil, a motor, and tires."
After her arrest, she smiled widely, pleased with her stunt.
Stephanie was charged with first-degree criminal mischief. She was released on $12,000 bail and will remain at large awaiting trial.
