96-year-old Croatian music teacher Frane Selak is called the unluckiest person on the planet, although he is, on the contrary, a rare lucky man: the man managed to avoid death threats seven times during his life, and later even won a huge sum in the lottery.





The life of this ordinary teacher from Croatia with an unusual fate is called a script for a movie. However, Frane himself believes that reality is much more interesting than what the world of cinema offers. His story was told by the NDTV publication.

Frane Selak was born in 1929 in Croatia. He chose the profession of a music teacher and led a modest life.

Frane's ordinary and quiet life turned into a series of adventures when the first serious trouble happened. In 1957, as reported by the BBC, the man fell into the river along with the bus and miraculously did not die.



After that, Frane Selak's life was full of mysterious incidents when he could have died, but was miraculously saved:

1962: the train he was riding on derailed and fell into the river. The crash killed 17 people, but Frane escaped with a broken arm and hypothermia;

1963: Frane was flying in a plane when the door opened and he was thrown out. He miraculously survived again, landing on a haystack, although the plane itself crashed and at least 19 people died;

1970: Frane's car suddenly caught fire while driving, but he managed to jump out of the car before the gas tank exploded;

1973: The fuel pump in his car broke, causing a fire. Frane escaped with scorched hair;

1995: Frane Selak was in a car accident, he was hit by a bus, but he escaped with minor injuries;

1996: Frane was driving on a mountain road when a truck suddenly pulled out in front of him. Trying to avoid a collision, the car went off the road and fell 100 meters. The man was saved by the fact that he was not wearing a seat belt, so he flew out and caught on a tree.



In the mid-2000s, as reported by Ripleys, Frane Selak finally had luck. The man won the lottery in Croatia, his jackpot was about a million dollars. Frane bought a luxury house with this money, but later changed his mind and sold it, giving the money to friends and family. After that, he returned to a modest life.
