Courier faked sauce accident to get free food

Arriving at the customer's address, the stranger put the bag of food on the tiled floor and then deliberately dropped his scooter on it. Sauce spurted out of the bag, and the courier took the spoiled dish away with him.
The question is: why was all this necessary? It's very simple. Having explained to his superiors that there was an unfortunate (and, of course, unintentional) incident with the sauce, the delivery service employee received the right to keep the defective food for himself (for free, of course).
And although the man deserves an A for his resourcefulness, the residents of the apartment building where the incident occurred are not particularly happy. At the very least, they had to clean up the spilled sauce.
