Drug courier cat caught on prison fence
An employee of a prison located in Costa Rica captured the moment the animal was caught.
An unusual drug courier was detained in the Pocochi prison in Costa Rica - a cat, to whose body 300 grams of drugs and cigarette sheets were tied. This was reported by the country's Ministry of Justice on its page on a social network.
According to the department, the guards noticed the unusual behavior of the animal when it approached the barbed wire. And when they caught the four-legged creature, everything fell into place. Packages with two types of prohibited substances were tied to the cat's body. Now they have been sent for examination.
“On Tuesday evening, prison police officers in the Pocochi prison managed to save a cat, to whose body two packages of drugs were attached. An officer on duty at one of the watchtowers noticed the animal on the lawn and immediately raised the alarm,” the official statement said.
The cat was handed over to the National Animal Health Service. It is necessary to establish whether it was harmed as a result of the “delivery.” This story was widely distributed on the Internet. Users dubbed the four-legged courier — Narkomich.
The country's Ministry of Justice added that an investigation was initiated into this incident. Law enforcement officers want to uncover the criminal network that tried to carry out such an operation. The department is confident that this “delivery” is only a small part of larger criminal activities.
