Reptile hunters removed 98 iguana eggs from one yard

A Miami resident (Florida, USA) had no idea that he had unwittingly become a local record holder.

Although his record is not exactly something to strive for. The homeowner noticed iguanas digging holes in his yard and contacted representatives of the organization "Humane Iguana Control". Reptile hunters arrived at the scene and found out that three female iguanas had settled in the yard and laid eggs - there were 98 of them in total, and this is an indisputable record.

At first, the homeowner was shocked that so many iguanas could hatch on his property, but then he was filled with sincere gratitude towards "Humane Iguana Control", who took away all the eggs. Iguanas are considered an invasive species in Florida, and by preventing such a "significant infestation", specialists protected the area from potential damage and reduced the health risks for both people and other animals.
