A girl moved to another country and lives in an apartment of 7 square meters
A 27-year-old student from Europe named Lydia lives in a tiny apartment in the center of Seoul, South Korea, and inspires millions of her followers.
When 27-year-old Lydia R. decided to enroll in Ewha Womans University in Seoul, she knew that finding housing close to campus would be difficult. But she didn’t expect that her new apartment would be only 7 square meters in size. However, this modest step became the beginning of an inspiring story.
Lydia quickly appreciated the advantages of compact housing: safety, cleanliness, flexible rent and no deposit, which is rare in South Korea. The only serious drawback was the lack of windows.
“It scared me at first, but I reminded myself that this was temporary. Life in Seoul happens outside the apartment,” she admitted.
Renting an apartment for 300 euros a month, Lydia quickly adapted. She transformed the cramped space into a cozy nook in pink, white and purple tones with lots of practical solutions: vertical storage, folding furniture, hooks and cute trinkets.
"My bed takes up almost the entire room, so I turned it into the centerpiece of the decor," she says.
