A feathered vandal terrorizes one of the cities in Massachusetts (4 photos)
For two months, the town's residents puzzled over what kind of vermin was damaging their cars. The mysterious attacker periodically broke the windows and mirrors of the cars.
During this time, 25 cars were attacked. The secret of the criminal's identity was revealed by local resident Mike Foster when he was in his Ford F-350 pickup truck. At first, he thought that his girlfriend was knocking on the glass, but when he raised his head, he discovered that the "girlfriend" had feathers and a sharp beak. And this very beak instantly made a healthy crack in the glass.
The "girl" turned out to be male, and during the mating season. The local woodpecker, seeing its reflection in the mirrors and car windows, mistook them for potential competitors and was simply defending its territory
And if you believe the experts who claim that a woodpecker's blow is a "biomechanical equivalent of a hammer blow", then there is no time for jokes at all.
They can't catch the woodpecker, local motorists continue to shed bitter tears and pay for his love showdowns out of their own pockets.
However, this is not the only such hooligan, residents of the city of Rockport have also encountered something similar.
