And the spectators are behind improvised fences and get a dose of adrenaline when the animal goes berserk from the crowd's screams and starts to dart from side to side. The most desperate ones run out from behind the fence and attract the attention of the bulls. Some craftsmen are killed by animals, but for some reason this does not stop people. For example, in 2023 in Valencia, a bull gored a 61-year-old man with its horns - he later died in hospital. 
And this happens regularly: almost every bull still manages to get to the noisy people and many get seriously injured. Which is not surprising - an encounter with a maddened animal weighing half a ton is usually not very good for health.
But this is already a tradition and the Spaniards do not want to give it up. Although from the outside it looks, to put it mildly, wild. But they like it. 
One such race was recently held in the Spanish town of Arcos de la Frontera in the province of Cadiz. To the cheerful cries of the crowd, the organizers of the event released a bull named Infinito, and he caused a commotion. Instead of racing along a narrow street, the animal broke through the fence and stabbed one of the onlookers with its horns. The bull trampled other people with its hooves.
The Internet suggests that someone cut corners when building these fences - the bull broke through them very easily.
The spectators were lucky - then the bull left them and ran down the street. Otherwise, there would have been many more victims.
