Enraged elephant attacked tourists during safari (3 photos + 1 video)
An elephant attacked an SUV in Yala National Park in Sri Lanka. The animal tried to grab the passengers and almost overturned the car.
The guide stepped on the gas, and the elephant changed his mind about chasing the group. Among the stunned tourists was Sam Bailey, who shared the video.
One of the netizens suggested that “the attack was due to the careless driver of the jeep.” However, Bailey countered: “We stopped a long way from the elephant. Over the course of 10 minutes, he came closer and closer and finally attacked. I started filming only when it all started."
This is not the first case of elephants attacking cars in Sri Lanka. In 2023, three similar incidents occurred in Yala National Park, which were associated with "illegal feeding" of elephants.

Animals may attack cars in search of food if they are used to receiving treats from tourists.
According to rough estimates, there are about 5,800 elephants in Sri Lanka. Recently, there has been a tendency towards an increase in the number of conflicts between people and these amazing creatures. According to the International Fund for Animal Welfare, about 200 elephants die in this country every year due to human fault.
