McDermott Castle is a castle and listed national monument located in County Roscommon, Ireland. There has been a fortification on the site since the 13th century, and the structure's tower may date back to the 16th century, with much of the current building (including the battlements) dating back to the 19th century. The excavations revealed that the island itself is a centuries-old fortification, with the earliest elements dating back to the early Middle Ages.
