In Britain, a church began holding wrestling matches to attract parishioners
The author of the original solution was 37-year-old wrestler Gareth Thompson. He claims that the fight and faith in Jesus Christ saved his life.
St. Peter's Church in the British city of Shipley, Great Britain, began to organize wrestling matches in the temple in order to attract believers. Many locals began to attend the fights, about 200 people came to one of them. Before the fights, a collective prayer is held.
The author of the initiative was 37-year-old parishioner of the church Gareth Thompson. The man believes that Christ and wrestling saved him. He hopes that someone will come to God in the same way. “If you boil it down to basics, it's good versus evil. When I became a Christian, I began to look at the world of wrestling through the prism of Christianity. I began to see David and Goliath. I began to see Cain and Abel. I began to see Esau being robbed of his heritage. And I thought we could tell these stories,” he said.
