Gamer Completes Super Mario Bros in Record Time (2 photos + 1 video)
A dedicated gamer has broken a world record by beating the classic 1985 game Super Mario Bros in just 4 minutes and 54.565 seconds.
Niftsky, an American gamer who holds several speed-running records, says his record-breaking time was the result of years of playing the Nintendo Entertainment System and hours of tinkering with his technique, incorporating every trick he could to shave off precious milliseconds.
"I spend at least 90% of my time training and 10% speedrunning, which I think is a big reason why I've gotten this far in the game," he said.
He's still not entirely happy with his time, though.
"I have big ambitions to beat the Super Mario Bros. world record by at least 4 minutes 54.3 seconds before I'm completely happy," he shared.
