I lost 115 kg without "Ozempic", but losing weight disfigured me (8 photos)
Popular blogger Nikocado Avocado told how after losing weight he got a "turkey neck" and sagging skin on his stomach, arms and legs. A Florida resident, whose real name is Nicholas Perry, became famous thanks to YouTube videos in which he eats food.
In two years, the American secretly lost weight from 191 to 76 kilograms. All this time he shared old videos, so subscribers were not aware of his transformation. Perry was able to reach a healthy weight, but he was left with a lot of excess skin hanging from his neck, face, and stomach. So he had to have several surgeries.
Perry shared: “I had no chin at all, just a big turkey neck. I would angle my shots to hide the loose skin on my stomach, my arms, my legs, my torso, my back, everywhere.”
Every year, about 20% of Americans lose more than 10% of their body weight. That number is increasing as more people turn to weight-loss drugs like Vegovi and Ozempic.
Plastic surgeons are reporting an increase in demand for skin-tightening procedures.
The 32-year-old blogger did not reveal how he managed to lose weight. Last month, he had a deep plane facelift with Dr. Ben Talei in Beverly Hills, California.
A deep plane facelift is an advanced technique that targets the deeper structures of the face, including the ligaments. This provides a natural, long-lasting result.
After the surgery, he had to wear a brace for at least a week. He was also told not to tilt his head forward, as this could cause a tear in the skin. A deep plane facelift in California costs between $22,000 and $50,000, and full recovery can take up to a year.
Next on the list was a tummy tuck and arm lift, which he had done earlier this month with Dr. Timothy Katzen in Beverly Hills. The procedure cost about $13,000 and can take up to three months to recover.
Perry attributes his weight gain to mukbang, a form of video blogging that involves streaming large amounts of food.
He said: "In a way, I am in this position because of them [my viewers]. I wouldn't be this fat if I couldn't make a living from it, make good money, get good views. If it wasn't for this success, I would never have gotten fat."
Explaining why he decided to have surgery to remove the excess skin, he added: "It's affecting my life. I can't even put on a normal shirt. It's ruining my confidence."
