Augmented reality takes basketball viewing to a new level. On a floating model of a basketball court, player models mimic every move of real basketball players in real time. 
The NBA app for the Vision Pro headset has received the Tabletop feature, which turns basketball games into a miniature 3D spectacle right before your eyes. The technology creates a floating model of a basketball court in your space, on which digital avatars mimic the movements of real players in real time. Each virtual athlete is displayed either as a robot or in a cartoon style. Players can be distinguished by the color of their uniform, names and numbers. When a player has the ball, his name is displayed above his head.
An interesting feature is that the function works even for local matches, the broadcast of which is usually unavailable in the application. During testing, a delay of about 45 seconds was found between what was happening on the virtual court and the announcers' comments. However, with the help of a special synchronization option, you can reduce the delay to half a second. Tabletop is currently in alpha status. Whether the function will be released for other XR devices is not reported.
