Elvis Summers started his project in 2015 after meeting a homeless woman named Smokey who slept on the street in front of his windows. In total, the man has built about a hundred small houses.

Elvis Summers, a 47-year-old resident of California (USA), has dedicated his life to building small houses to help people get off the streets. It takes him from a few days to a couple of weeks to complete one project, and the cost of each house varies from 7,000 to 15,000 US dollars.

Summers says the funding comes entirely from donations.

Elvis started his project in 2015 after meeting a homeless woman named Smokey who was sleeping on the street in front of his house. After building her a tiny shelter for just $500, he saw how much of a difference it made in her life and decided to keep building. Today, he has built hundreds of these homes.

His designs include a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and electricity, providing safety and comfort to those who were previously forced to sleep on the streets. However, in 2023, the City of Los Angeles seized his homes, citing potential dangers. To avoid further problems, Elvis now builds both full-size homes and emergency shelters without running water or electricity.

Despite the success of the project, the rising cost of materials makes it difficult to implement. Summers continues to work to finance his initiative, but dreams of devoting himself to this cause full-time in the future.

The American also encourages people to join the project, as he believes that solving the problem of homelessness requires a collective approach.

"The number of people in need is growing at an incredible rate. Even if I had millions of dollars and a large team, we would not be able to keep up," says Elvis.

The man is sure that homelessness will continue to increase until society reconsider its views on this problem. However, Summers is convinced that the most important thing is to help from the heart.

"Everyone has their own story, so it is important to remain open-minded. Do good, and do not give up," he urges.
