A mirror-scanner that gives the owner useful information about health
A French company engaged in the production of consumer electronics has presented a concept of a smart mirror that can detect the presence of diseases.
Technology companies continue to invent new convenient ways to monitor health, and recently the French company Withings decided to turn the most honest object in the house - a mirror - into a home doctor. Their new development called Omnia not only reflects a face rumpled after yesterday, but also collects a whole bunch of indicators - from weight and hours of sleep to heart rate and blood pressure. Built-in sensors of the mirror conduct a full diagnosis while a person examines the morning circles under the eyes.
The manufacturer claims that the new mirror panel will even be able to conduct an electrocardiogram and detect arrhythmia. And the voice assistant built into the mirror will give advice on improving health. However, it is still unclear how useful its recommendations will be - what if it advises you to have a snack on a treadmill with your morning coffee? Withings founder Eric Carril has already dubbed the new invention a “colossal breakthrough in medicine,” but the price of the breakthrough and its release date remain unknown.
