The owner of the apartment was shocked to find that his rented apartment had turned into a chicken coop (3 photos + 1 video)
Recently, the landlord received a report from neighbors about strange sounds and a foul smell coming from the apartment he rented out to a tenant two years ago. Pleased that he was receiving his monthly rent on time, the man did not check the apartment until last month. He found it full of chickens wandering and flying around the premises.
"It stinks here," the furious landlord told Dianshi News. "Both the floor and walls are badly damaged. The apartment needs major repairs and must be completely finished, otherwise no one can live there."
The landlord complained that the rent he had received from the tenant for the past two years was not enough to cover the cost of the necessary repairs, and he was asking for advice online on how to resolve the situation.
One of the man's neighbors, a woman surnamed Wu, told reporters that she and other neighbors complained to the building management about the stench coming from the apartment, but all the tenant did was close the apartment's windows. Meanwhile, the damage to the floors and walls of the apartment continued.
"I am very sad that the house I worked so hard to decorate was destroyed like this when I first rented it out," the owner complained, adding that he called the police after learning about the situation.
A landlord can legally sue a tenant for significant damage to their property, but there is no guarantee that they will be able to provide compensation.
