8-year-old boy traded his skateboard for a kitten to save the baby from bullies (2 photos + 1 video)

The boy kept the kitten for himself and named it Peaches. And the locals were so touched by the boy's actions that they raised money for him to buy a new skateboard!





Zane Berry said that he was walking in the park when he saw teenagers bullying an animal: they were throwing the kitten to each other like a football. The boy decided to intervene and offered the bullies his skateboard in exchange for the kitten. The teenagers agreed.

Zane brought the kitten home. The boy's parents realized that the animal needed medical attention and took him to the vet. "You could hear him breathing heavily and his paws were covered in some kind of dirt," Zane recalls.



According to the Humane Society, the kitten had an upper respiratory infection. The animal also had to have one of its eyes removed. But despite this, the kitten is now on the mend, according to doctors.

Zane became so attached to the animal that he decided to keep it for himself. He named the kitten Peaches. And the local Humane Society staff were so touched by the boy's actions that they collected money and presented Zane with a gift certificate for a new skateboard.
